The Barcelona-headquartered manufacturer of droppers has announced the opening of a new subsidiary in Shanghai, China.
Currently employing 4 staffs, the new sales office is intended as a bridgehead for further business expansion in the Asian market. As a first step, the new Virospack Asia company will be focused on offering a closer and faster service to Asian brands. Thanks to a local stock of a variety of standard references, the Shanghai office will be able to act as both a sales office and as a sourcing centre for Asian brands, but all Virospack products are still manufactured in Spain.
A bridgehead to Asian markets
“Our objective in this first phase is to offer fast-to-market solutions to local brands. With this goal Virospack Asia has in stock some standard references, manufactured in Barcelona and stocked in Shanghai, to be able to answer very fast to the Asian demand,” the company told Premium Beauty News.
In order to help local brands find the products that are readily available, Virospack has created an interactive catalogue dedicated to the Asian market.
“Obviously, in addition of these stocked references, brands can order any other of our standard references from our wide range catalogue, easy to customize, or specific solutions if they desire. In this case we are manufacturing in Spain, but with longer delivery times,” the company added.
In a second phase, Virospack aims to build its own manufacturing unit in China. “With this new factory we will be able to offer customized dropper packs to Asian customers with shorter leads and to continue increasing our flexibility and cost-efficiency to international brands.”
With 65 years of experience, the Spanish company employs 500 people around the world, who design and make high-end cosmetic packs for well-known international brands. Virospack currently produces more than 100 million units of droppers per year and more than 20 million units of bottles in their 12,000 m2 facilities, located in a few kilometers from Barcelona. An additional building is currently being built with Breeam green certification underway.
